Portfolio: Sailing VesselsKnowledge and skill in performance design have been demonstrated by numerous first-place finishes by several Scarano sailing yachts, including an elapsed-time course record in the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race. Our designs have excelled competitively even while adhering to the requirements of USCG certification to carry passengers. Schooners Adirondack and Adirondack II

These period-styled schooners were designed and built for charter work. Their wood construction conveys an engagingly traditional aesthetic both above- and below-deck. Operated by Classic Harbor Line in Manhattan, and Sailing Excursions Inc. in Newport, RI, respectively, they have shown sailors and non-sailors alike how enjoyable a few hours or a day on a classic schooner can be. Schooner America
In 1851, a schooner called America went to England to challenge the British yachts. She won, and the race took on her name to become the America's Cup. The new America has sailed thousands of miles, has been featured in several magazines, and carried the Olympic Torch to the 1996 Olympic sailing venue in Savannah, GA. She continues to be made available for charters, and to station herself on display, allowing everyone to enjoy her inspiring craftsmanship. Please view our Gallery of additional sailing vessels. |
