General Harrison of Piqua

The General Harrison of Piqua was the first of the 19th century replica canal boats built by Scarano.  Her hull was built out of aluminum for ease of maintenance and durability, but her decks and house are made of wood to give a more authentic appearance.  She is propelled by two mules along a towpath.

Trivia: The previous General Harrison’s wooden hull succumbed to the ravages of time and sank in the canal.
